The Discovery
In 1849, the British archaeologist Sir Austen Henry Layard was working at the site of Babylon, south of modern-day Baghdad, when he made the first discovery of Sumerian tablets covered in cuneiform text. The initial translations revealed startling similarities to the Bible — including an account of a worldwide deluge.
In 1976, the Russian-born author Zecharia Sitchin published The 12th Planet, the first of a series built on a controversial reading of those texts: an epic tale of a highly advanced humanoid alien race, very different from the one on Earth. Planet X is an adapted story of those ancient clay translations — the story, materials and characters original to writer-producer Timothy E. Burke.
The scene is set for epic battles: an alien civilisation hellbent on power, a bitter sibling rivalry cut through with a twisted love story, and ultimately their invasion of Earth to mine the gold that protects their own planet — roughly 250,000 years ago.

A Tidally Locked Planet
- One side of Planet X faces its hypervelocity star, NUN, forever. The other faces the icy depths of space.
- Between them lies a green landmass — the Golden Banner — where most inhabitants live and survive in perpetual twilight.
- The planet never rotates. The desert kingdom of the Swallow Sands always faces NUN; the Ice World always faces away from it.
- Three distinct regions can be seen from space: blazing orange, steel blue, and a soft verdant stripe of great lakes, one mega-city and a sprawling civilisation.

NUN
The Hypervelocity Star
Around 1,000 hypervelocity stars are believed to exist in the Milky Way — a minuscule fraction of its 100 billion stars. Such a star is born of a black hole that grows so large it implodes, bursting matter outward instead of drawing it in. NUN was shot out that way, its gravity dragging Planet X and 26 moons behind it through space and time at five percent of the speed of light.
Islandia is drifting closer to her star. The gold trapped in her protective atmosphere is eroding, the planet is heating, and radiation is rising to fatal levels. The kingdoms cannot survive alone: the Swallow Sands generate solar power, the Golden Banner makes food and clean water, and the Ice World supplies the minerals for the Elixir.

Time & Longevity — The Elixir
- Longevity is worth more than any possession or fortune on Islandia.
- Created, controlled and distributed by King Anu and the royal bloodlines of the Floating Garden realm.
- It heals wounds, grants supernatural and superhuman abilities, and extends life so users can live longer inside the virtual worlds.
- Lifespans run to 5,000 years. A royal pure blood can pass 15,000 — and generational use has altered their genetics beyond 30,000, making them gods to younger species.
- Illegal traders work the backstreets of Megatropolis. And too much Elixir turns a person evil.

Beyond Base
The Twelve Dimensions
For aeons Planet X has followed NUN across the universe, and in that time has found dimensions only speculated about here on Earth.
Base Level
Normal reality on Planet X and on Earth.
Computer Simulated Virtual Worlds
The Metaverse. 80% of Golden Banner citizens spend 85% of their lives here, living infinite lives, earning cryptocurrency to buy Elixir back in Base, sleeping for years in hibernation beds.
The Spirit World
Entered by dying briefly in the 5th. Spirit Realm Guardians walk the desert plains and deep forests. Souls can astral project — and can be lost without an anchor.
The Dream World
Shrouded in mystery. The Watchers implant messages and warnings in dreams. Volatile, dangerous, and mastered by Lilith.
The Enlightened Ones
Fortune tellers and Watchers with telekinesis, precognition, mind control, anti-gravity and healing. Everything is connected by an invisible grid.
Time Travel & Multiverses
The unknown dimension of parallel universes. Interaction is outlawed on Planet X — with exceptions inside the House of Anu.
The Afterlife
You stay until your soul is chosen. The Grand Creators decide your next path, and your next body.
The Grand Creators
The divine energy force that governs and binds all living beings across every dimension and universe.
